The word violate has many meanings but for our purposes our definition says the following: treating something sacred with irreverence or disrespect. Have you ever been violated? Has someone violated your body and touched you without your permission? Has someone violated your trust by breaking a promise or betraying you? Has your heart been violated by someone’s words or actions? However, your violation occurred, it was painful and sometimes it can take many years to start the healing process. I know God, therapy and my tribe (family and friends) have been instrumental in my healing. Everyone’s journey toward healing is different. I think it is essential to acknowledge your pain and start the healing process which looks different for everyone.
First, I want to say I am sorry that someone violated you. However, your violation occurred, it was wrong. You are a child of God. There is never a justification for anyone violating you physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally and so on. Jesus paid a deadly price for all of us to have eternal life and an abundant life. Violations are not a part of it. You did not cause or deserve your violation. May God heal your soul and remind you that he will restore, redeem and renew anything that has been broken or violated in your life. May God continue to meet you in ways that minster to your soul. May Jesus’ death remind you that nothing is too hard for God. May the Holy Spirit come near you and help you work through your tears and pain. May God bless you!
