“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.“-Ephesians 6:10-12
As children of God, we have an adversary named Satan or the devil. He hates us and tries to convince us daily we are not victorious. Jesus defeated him at Calvary by laying down his life and rising from the dead so that we would have eternal life as well as abundant life. That means no matter what, we are victorious every day of our lives because we are children of God. Our circumstances do not have to confirm our identity as children of God. Isaiah 54:17 says, “no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD.”
Weapons will form but they will never prosper against us. In today’s scripture, Paul reminds us about the armor of God. He details every piece our armor which includes truth, faith and peace. You can read the whole description our armor (Ephesians 6:10-18) by clicking here. Priscilla Shirer does an awesome bible study entitled “The Armor of God” and you can get it from Lifeway by clicking here. I enjoyed this study and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be better equipped in their daily battles and as a child of God. As children of God, we must walk out our daily lives remembering we are victorious.
Sometimes, we can become focused on the people, places and things that frustrate us and forget we have an adversary who is trying daily to take us out. God has given us a strong armor to wear daily. The armor was built by and is founded in him. We do not have to fight our battles alone. God is always with us and in him we lack nothing. Yes we will have bad days. We will have moments where we are grieving, sad, confused, heartbroken, angry and more. We must remember that God is always with us and he has equipped us with what we need to win every battle. You are victorious every day of your life. You don’t have to accept anything from the enemy. You are loved by God. May God meet you in a special way as he reminds you of your greatness. God bless you.
