Stop Accepting Crumbs (Sit at The Banquet Table)

“The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.”-Psalm 37:23-24

Jesus died for our past, present and future sins. When God sees us, he does not see our mistakes and past. He sees Jesus’ sacrificial death which makes us righteous or in right standing with God. Sometimes, we can have the tendency to believe we deserve less than God’s best. It can because of what people have said to us. It could because of things that have been written about us. It could be shame and low self-esteem creating a false narrative. Our circumstances and past could be presenting a false representation of our identity. As children of God, we are loved by God and our inheritance is an abundant life.

God is always with us. Today’s scripture reminds us that God is always with us. When we make a mistake (on purpose or unknowingly), God will be there with us and love us through the process of restoration. The enemy of our souls and his imps want to hit us over the head about things Jesus died on the cross for and God has forgotten about. Psalm 103:12 says, “as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” When something is removed, that means it is gone and is no longer associated with its former location. When we repent, God forgives and forgets our sins. Are you accepting less than God’s best? Are you accepting crumbs when Jesus died for you to have a seat at a banquet table?

You may have accepted crumbs in your health, finances, relationship, finances, friendships, career, self perception and more.  It is never too late to make a change. Starting right now, ask God to show you where you can come up higher. Romans 12:12 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” I can speak for myself and I have settled in many areas of my life because of a false narrative that was in my mind about myself. God took me on a journey of healing and restoration to show me that I was settling. He renewed my mind. May God bless us as we come up higher in him.
