“Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”-Isaiah 53: 4-5
What has God healed or set you free from? Could it be your sins and now you are saved? Could it be a mental or physical illness that used to debilitate you and now you are living a better life? Could it be the restoration of your marriage, family, relationship or friendship? Are you walking around debt free when your mailbox, voicemail and email used to be overwhelmed by bill collectors? The list is endless. Whatever God does for us is not only for us. When God does something great for us, he wants us to encourage and build up someone else who does not see light at the end of the tunnel.
Today’s scripture is a reminder that Jesus was crucified for all our iniquities. He took our place so that we could walk in healing and freedom and because he loves us. So, if you are feeling hopeless or overwhelmed, give it to God. God will answer a prayer instantly by saying yes, no or wait. Waiting is hard but we need to remember that God wants what is best for us. When we testify about the goodness of God, we are allowing God to be glorified through us. When we pray and seek God, he will show us how and when to testify. Everyone is not going to have the same testimony and that is intentional. There are no two people who have the same testimony. Matthew 5:14 says, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”
There was a time in my life that I walked around with a lot of shame and anger. I was raised in church and even in leadership. Then one day in 2005, I was born again and God took my relationship with him to the next level. He began to address one hurt and wound at a time. After a lot of tears, pruning, refining and pain, I can honestly say that my relationship with God is the center of my life. I will forever be a work in progress but I want to use the space God has given me to encourage other people. God is so good. He will liberate, restore, heal and refine you in a way that cannot be described. Psalm 100:4 “Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise Give thanks to Him, bless His name.”
Whatever platform that God has given you, please use it to encourage it. When I see my sisters on WordPress (checkout Beauty Beyond Bones, The Godly Chick Diaries, Becoming His Tapestry, Sisters Helping Sisters and Fish Full Life ) who encourage me and their readers, I am overwhelmed with joy and thanksgiving. I thank God for these women using their platform to be transparent about being a Christian and their personal lives. They do not sugarcoat anything and I am so thankful to be connected to them. I would encourage you to check out their pages and follow them. You can see my full list of the blogs I follow by looking on the right-hand side of my page. Your platform is wherever you go so that would be work, church, home, ministry and as you go about your life. Your testimony is too important to keep bottled up. I am talking to myself. May we never be ashamed of our testimonies. May God continue to use in a special way. God bless you!
