Hello readers! Today, we are going to continue our path of progress for 2019. We have discussed revamping our goals, purging people, places and things that do not line up with our new identity and more. Today, we are going a little deeper into purging. In my opinion, a fair-weathered person is only in your life when your life is in the extreme and cannot handle either version. As we continue to make progress into what is next for us in 2020 and beyond, we need to examine the people the closest to us. Everyone is not worthy of us and everything associated with us which includes our time, talent and treasure. If you have a “friend” who is only around you when everything is great or bad, that person is fair-weathered.
Recently, I took a moment to show gratitude to my tribe recently. These people have been with me through thick and thin and I have done the same with them. They have prayed with me when I had no words. They have allowed me to cry, question, ponder, doubt and more without judgement. I am so thankful to God for upgrading my tribe. There was a time in my life I had to hide my tears and pain around certain people. I also had some people who could not handle my victories and successes. I could not be my true self. Now, I am soaring and it is awesome to have people who support me in good, bad and in between times. I am not saying any of this to brag but to encourage you not to settle for fair-weathered “friendships”.
We all deserve to be in association with people who will encourage us to be our best, love us enough to mentor and correct us and give us space to be ourselves. If you must walk around on eggshells around the people the closest to you, they do not know you. If someone is only around you when everything is bad or good only, that person is fair-weathered. I would encourage you to surround yourself with people who can celebrate and grieve with you. I am encouraged that we will start 2020 off with less baggage. We don’t have to wait until 2020. I would encourage you to start examining your life now to see if you need to make an adjustment. You deserve the very best. Here is to living our best life possible with the best people surrounding and loving us unconditionally.
