“Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.”-Psalm 1126:5
Last night I did a very difficult workout. You can join in the fun by clicking here. The workout was difficult but also fun and rewarding. I was reminded that six months ago, I could not do a workout like this one. I was not healthy and strong enough to do it. Despite the ups and downs of 2019, I am happy to say God has been with me the whole time. He never abandoned me through the tears, sleepless nights, doubting moments, heartbreak and pains of 2019. What about you? How have you been feeling this year? Are you experiencing things that have caused you to doubt God’s love for you? I want to encourage us to laugh and dance despite the storms of life. I know we will cry and have tough moments but we need to keep pushing forward. God cannot abandon us because he loves us.
I love how God keeps his promises. When we sow with tears we will in reap joy. God knows about each tear you have ever shed. Your tears are not wasted. They are an investment in what God is doing for you next. Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” God does not expect us to sustain ourselves. He expects us to turn to him and our trusted community of people who can uphold us in our stormy seasons. God loves us so much and even during the storm, we must remember that we are going to be fine. We must continue to live life. We must dance and laugh despite what has happened to us. I know this is easier said than done.
I am honored to be on this journey with you. Our paths may differ but we serve the same God. He is victorious, powerful, strong, anointed, undefeated, righteous and many countless things. Since we are his children, we have his attributes. Let us laugh and dance during our journey. Let us continue to encourage one another and know that nothing in this world, including hardship, can separate us from God or his love. I leave you with Romans 8:38-39, “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
