Happy Motivation Friday! Can you believe we made it to Friday? I can because we are victorious. In Baltimore, everything is purple and black because of my Baltimore Ravens.  Go Ravens! My Chelsea Blues of the English Premier League are on my heart also. Let’s go Blues! So, as we close the month of September, I want us to gear up for finishing 2019 strong.  Since we have begun the process of removing and purging toxic people, places and things out of our lives, we have so much more freedom and room in our lives.  So, let’s fall in love with life again. I am not talking about just dating but life in general. Let’s explore the ways of falling in love with life once again.

Fall in love with yourself: As a Christian, I believe love always starts with God and then with myself which flows out to others. So, what can you do to extend love to yourself? It can be taking a day to sleep in and rest. It can be working out and watching what you eat. It can be saying no to all the demands on your schedule. When you love yourself, you must set aside time for yourself. Sleep does not count because that is a necessity. So, fall in love with yourself again.

Fall in love with other people: Love has different forms. You can love your family members, mate and friends in different manners but you must be consistent. You must be available. If your schedule is jam packed, you cannot prioritize the people you love the most. Also, if you are spending time with your tribe but have an electronic device nearby, you cannot be giving your full attention and be fully present. Also, being mindful of your words and actions is a great way to show love. Also, small gestures can go a long way. It can be sending a text or cooking a favorite meal. Make sure you show up for your tribe. These are the people who have our backs no matter what and we need to love on them always.

Fall in love with something new: The new season is an opportunity to learn something new. It can be a new skill, hobby, business or whatever you are in the mood to learn. I just started playing a new game called Word Stack and I love it. It is something that challenges me and it is new so it is exciting. You are not expected to be an expert at anything new but keep an open mind about what you want to learn. Also, invite a friend.

Fall in love with nature: Sometimes, we are so busy that we do pause to look around at nature. Nature is so beautiful. The changing of the leaves, rising and setting of the sun with a blue sky as the backdrop, the green grass and so much more. You can enjoy nature with a run, walk, hike or just taking a moment to look around. I remember on the first day of spring, I woke up a few minutes earlier to pause and listen to the birds sing. It was such a beautiful moment. I would encourage you to enjoy nature.

Fall in love with life: Our lives are made up of many moments. We cannot have a do over of a day or moment. So, let us seize every second that has been given to us. Let us be mindful of how we spend our time, talent and resources. We need to take care of ourselves so that we can enjoy the best that life must offer. We must enjoy and cherish the people in our realm. They are not perfect and we are not perfect either. There is so much beauty around us in nature and beyond. Learn something new and it is never too late. This is our time. Here is to falling in love with life again.
