“Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.”-Isaiah 61:7
On this motivation Thursday, I am reminded of a time when I hated the Hallmark Channel. I would watch these movies with a happy ending and just have a cold heart toward happy endings. I now know my thinking was based on my former toxic associations and lack of boundaries . Now, I am living a happy ending life and can watch those beautiful Hallmark Channel movies crying tears of joy and healing. The life I have now is full of so much joy and peace. I never knew I could live a life where I was good enough with no string attached. God’s economy is so beautiful and loving. Despite our shortcomings and mistakes, he always gives us his best which is more than we can comprehend. My life is beautiful now because God healed me and upgraded my entire life.
Today’s scripture talks about God giving us a double portion of blessing despite our former shame, disgrace and more. What or who do you need to be restored? It could be your thinking, finances, relationship, family, health, salvation, purpose and the endless list can go on. I am here to tell you God will restore you in a way that you and observers will know that it was God. When we try to do things that only God can do, it can never compare to God wants to do. Remember Job, who lost everything including his children, health, wealth and more but he continued to keep his faith in God despite having questions and friends who were not helpful. Job 42:10 says, “After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.” He also has his own book of the Bible. He went from devastation to unspeakable promotion.
If God did it for Job, he will do it for you and me. God restored Job after he continued to walk in obedience. I am not sure what you are waiting on God to restore but I promise that as you walk in obedience, he will restore you and me. It may not be easy and there will be tears and pain but stay the course and know that God will bless you. God will bless us. Galatians 6:9 says, “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” God’s right time is always better than our right time. May God our father who loves us beyond words restore and heal all that appears to be broken in due season. In Jesus’ matchless name we touch and agree saying Amen! God bless you!
