“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”–Lamentations 3:22-23
Today is a new day. We have never seen this day before and we will never see this day again. God’s love for us has no bounds and each day is full of new mercy and grace. We do not have to borrow or use yesterday’s grace and mercy. Today’s scripture talks about God’s love, mercy and faithfulness. God’s love will never stop no matter what. Despite our shortcomings, circumstances, failures and procrastination, God loves us. His grace and mercy towards us has no limit. We are children of God and our birthright includes so much including God’s unlimited love, grace, mercy and favor toward us.
If you ever have a day where you do not feel worthy of God’s love, that is a lie. God loves us and his love is unconditional. 1 John 4:19 says, “We love because he first loved us.” God doesn’t need to be begged to love us. We don’t have to convince him to love us. He loved us first. That is a beautiful notion. We didn’t have to come to him flawless. He loved us first. On our best, worst or in between day, he loves us. When we are not feeling lovable, he still loves us. So today, I would encourage you to pray and read the word of God. Listen and sing God’s word. Allow the word of God to wash over you while you are reminded of God’s love for you. I will close this post with scriptures and songs about God’s love. Please feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments. God bless you!
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.“-John 3:16
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”-1 Chronicles 16:34
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no one can boast.“-Ephesians 2:8-9
“The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”-Zephaniah 3:17
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” -1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (read 1 Corinthians 13 by clicking here)
