Is Your Past Impacting Your Present and Future?

We have many tough lessons to apply to our present and future from our past. These lessons could be from a past friendship, relationship, financial mistake, and more. There comes a time we must stop looking back. We need to stop looking in the rear-view mirror of our past. We need to stay in the present and move forward. We all have those days when we look back. We can look back too long and the next thing we know we are dealing with people, places and things who should have stayed in our past. We get hurt or disappointed a second time. We cry more because of the heartbreak and we realize our past does not fit our present.

We need to be very careful when we reflect on our past. Your new job, friend or mate should not pay the price for something that happened in the past. How would you feel if you came to a restaurant and you were billed for the meal of the party before you? That is unfair. You did not participate in that meal so why should you have to pay for it? This is true in our real lives. Why should our present and future pay for our past? We need to take a timeout and make sure we are presenting our best selves to our present and future.

Our present and future deserves our best. We deserve our best.  The world deserves our best. We are too great to be limited by our past and the hurts and mistakes that are there. Our present and future is full of too much hope and much more to be limited to the past. If someone or something comes from your past and does not line up with your present or future, say no and keep it moving. You are too great to not live your very best life. The world needs you and your unique gifts. Here is to living and loving every day of our lives.
