We Are Free in Christ!

34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”-John 8:34-36

As Children of God, we are free. Jesus died for all our past, present and future sins. We are liberated from our past lives of sin and can walk confidently in freedom. When we approach God, he sees his redeemed child. Ask yourself, are you living the live that Jesus died for you to have? We are guaranteed to go to heaven but our inheritance also includes an abundant life. John 10:10 says, “10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Jesus did not die for us to get the leftovers of life. Jesus died so we could live a life beyond our comprehension.  Jesus died in advanced so we would not have to attempt to pay for our sins. When we walk in fear, hate, anger, anxiety, condemnation, low self-esteem, pride, depression and more, those things are not of God. Jesus paid the price for every past, present and future sin. That includes the sins that you think cannot be forgiven. Micah 7:19 says, “He shall again have compassion on us; He will subdue and tread underfoot our wickedness [destroying sin’s power]. Yes, You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.”

We are free. Every day of our lives we are free. No matter how many mistakes we have made, are going to make or are making that does not negate our freedom in Christ. There is nothing that can separate us from God.  We are loved by God and may we remember that on the hardest days of our lives.  We are free! Romans 8:38-39 says, 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
