“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? – Psalm 27:1
Fear or false evidence appear real can be paralyzing and debilitating. It can show up as sleepless nights, anxiety, refusing to take a risk, isolation, anger, sadness and so much more. Jesus bore fear and everything else when he humbly and willingly died for our past, present and future sins. Fear is not part of our makeup as children of God. The scripture Isaiah 54:17 says, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
Weapons will form and one of those weapons includes fear. Fear cannot take you out. You may have bill collectors flooding your voicemail, email and mailbox. You may be harboring anger or resentment toward yourself or/and others. You maybe single and watching each of your friends get married and have kids has you looking at your biological clock. Your relationship or friendship maybe on the rocks or has ended. You maybe reeling from friction in your family. You may have just buried a loved one. Your health may have challenges. The list goes on and on. I want to reassure you and tell you that fear cannot take you out.
I used to live in fear of a lot of things. When I was born again and began a deeper and real relationship with God, I noticed one by one God addressed my fears. I said I would never do certain things and God equipped me not only to do things but to excel at them. I am not saying I never have moments where I see fearful circumstances. I now know how to call on the name of Jesus quickly and as a first resort. James 5:16 says, “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
God will bring you to the other side of whatever you fear is about to take you out. God is all you need. You plus God is always a majority. Do not allow any person, place or thing to steal your peace. The next time you feel fear rising in your soul, call out to God. Call out to people you can trust who will pray for you. You are a gem in the Kingdom of God. God loves you too much to forsake you. You are a wonderful and great person. Your name is Child of God. Walk in boldness knowing that you are a Child of God.
