7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”-Matthew 7:7-8
Have you hit a roadblock in your faith? Have you become frustrated or tired of waiting on God? Sometimes, we can be the opposition to the blessings or answers to prayer that God has for us. It can be by speaking words against ourselves or our future. It can be by refusing to stop or acknowledge a sin that God has brought to our attention. It can be losing faith while praying for something or someone for an extended period. It can be also being shortsighted in our vision and limiting our prayers. God is greater than anything or anyone that comes against us. Psalms 17:6 says, ” I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.” God hears us and will answer our prayers if we obey and trust him.
If we spend more time talking about our doubt and refusing to read the word of God, we could be preventing God from blessing us. We do not need to be perfect to receive anything from God. We must ask ourselves what is our posture is saying? We will have moments of doubt and anxiety. We are human so this is natural. We must decide to pray, fast, read the word of God, listen to sermons, surround ourselves with people who will pray with us and more. Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
We will have stormy seasons. We will have moments of testing. Remember that your God is bigger and stronger than any storm. Your tears are priceless. Your heartbreak is a fabric of your story. Your disappointments and failures are not wasted. God is ready to do amazing things in your life. Your posture right now should be one of receiving and not rejecting the blessings of God. Ephesians 1:18 says, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,” Let us remember as children of the King that our birthright is to receive the best from God.
