Pruning is Essential for Growth

As part of our continued 2019 reset, we are going to discuss pruning. To grow, you must prune. It is a proven fact that to expand your capacity to receive and grow, you must remove people, places and things that are hindering you and your growth. You cannot say yes or no to everything. There must be balance to your life. We must start with ourselves. Do you make yourself a priority? Do you go to sleep on time? No one can be expected to go to bed on time 100% of the time. Sleep is the way to rest and rejuvenate yourself.  Aside from sleep, do you invest time into yourself and your future. I am talking about self-care such as working out, sitting back and doing nothing, spending time alone, dating yourself and more. You need boundaries in your life to make sure there is balance.

Next, you must take inventory about your schedule. Is everything in your schedule moving you toward progress? Do you feel overwhelmed, tired or just dissatisfied? It is time to review your schedule? You may be doing things out of routine and obligation versus doing things because they are fun. You do not have to make a rash decision right now but I would encourage you to take inventory of your schedule. If most of the things on your schedule are done out of routine and obligation, pruning will change your life for the better. You cannot go back in time but you can make a jump start on  healthy present and future.

Who are you spending your time with? You must make sure that your circle is full of people who will love and support you unconditionally. Are you spending time with people who complain all the time? Only reach out when they need something from you? People who never have time for you but expect you to drop everything in your life for them? You deserve to be in the best friendships and relationships. Anything short of the best is not acceptable. Some people you can love from a distance to ensure you are living in daily peace and joy.

Pruning is not easy but it is for the best. You do not have to wait until next year to do it. The sooner you do it, the better your life will be long term. Stop accepting the scraps of life and take your seat at the banquet table overflowing with love, joy, peace, fun. laughter and so much more. I am not saying everyday will be sunshine but decide to walk in joy by pruning people, places and things that are not deserving of you. You deserve the very best. Here is to pruning during our 2019 reset.
