When there is a forecast for a major storm of rain or snow, a heat wave, tornado or hurricane, it captures our attention. We prepare the best we can and when we are in the worst of it, we begin to wonder when it will end? When will the snow and ice melt? When will the rain stop pouring? When will the winds and destruction stop? When will the temperatures stabilize? The storm will eventually stop and things will become calm and normal eventually. We can relax and know we have gotten to the other side of the storm.
The same can be said of the stormy seasons in our lives. When we are in the worst storms of our lives, we feel like there is no end in sight. We feel like giving up and our soul feels drained and weary. I want to encourage you and let you know the storm will eventually end. God knew about the storm before you did and has already dispatched a solution. In the meantime, he is always with us even in the midst of a storm. Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” God is with us 100% of the time even when we feel alone.
Praising God in the midst of a storm is the ultimate act of faith. Your circumstances may tell you to doubt God but we cannot be moved by what we see in the natural. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” How do you praise God in the midst of a storm? You can start by praying and asking the Holy Spirit to help you. You can also listen to or sing a worship song. You can read or listen to the word of God. Whatever you decide to do, know that God will meet you and exceed your expectations. May God bless you beyond your comprehension.
