Celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season and help children for years to come. Kennedy Krieger’s Festival of Trees will be held Friday November 27, 2015- Sunday November 29, 2015 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds ( The Cow Palace 2200 York Road Timonium, Maryland 21093). Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $7 for kids. You can purchase tickets by clicking here. You can also start your own fundraising for the event by clicking here. For every $10 raised, you will earn a free ticket. What a great way to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season.
The Festival of Trees will feature more than “700 trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses decorated by local designers, corporations and schools.” Attendees will enjoy entertainment, games, rides, boutiques and a silent auction. This year’s raffle features more than $2,500 in cash prizes. You can purchase your $2 raffle tickets by clicking here or when you attend the event. Thanksgiving Day will be on Thursday November 26, 2015. Are you looking for something to do on Thanksgiving Day? The Y in Central Maryland presents its Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot Charity 5K. The cost is $40 for adults, $20 for youth ages 7-17 years of age and children 7 years of age and younger are free (everyone must register even for free registrations) . You can register in person at a Y in Central Maryland location until Wednesday November 25, 2015. Closing times vary so please check your location by clicking here. You can also register in person on the day of the Turkey Trot. There will not be as many t-shirts available for day of registrations.
The Turkey Trot begin at 8:30 am on Thanksgiving Day in Arnold, Baltimore City, Bel Air, Ellicott City, Towson and Westminster. Participants can walk or run and prizes will awarded for each age group. “All participants will receive an official race t-shirt. Proceeds benefit children whose families can’t afford educational and enrichment opportunities, such as Y Preschool and Camp.
